Little League Banners: Do-It-Yourself Design Tips
January 20, 2010
Your kids’ playing in the upcoming little league baseball is no small feat. From tryouts to victory parties, let your kids know that you are their number one supporter and that you believe in their abilities. What better way to show your support than having little league banners that you’ve designed yourself. And to help you with that, here are tips for designing your own banner prints:
Tips on Designing Your Own Little League Banners
Words of Encouragement
Instead of using generic banner wordings using the team’s name, be more creative and use your own words of encouragement. You can use words like “Go our little champions! Bat homeruns, strike them out and bring home the glory!”
The Right Font
Consider where you will place your little league banner and make sure to use the correct font size. You wouldn’t want your banner prints to have fonts that can’t be read even just from several meters distance. It would be better to check the field where the kids are playing so you can estimate the font size accordingly.
Go with the Team’s Colors
Not sure what colors to use for your banners? Then use the team’s colors and logo as your inspiration. You can also base the colors of your prints from the uniform that they’ll be using. Baseball teams, or any sports teams, usually have home and away colors for their uniforms. Thus, it is best to check if the kids will be playing in their home court or away.
Include Photos
The most common prints for baseball banners would include team logos, the name of the team and the all too generic “Go Team!” message. Be different by adding a photo of the kids in their uniforms on your banner design. You can also use a team photo or one taken while they are on the field (batting, running for the base or pitching).
Add grommets
You don’t want to be holding your banners while watching the kids play so you’d be free to clap and cheer anytime. Adding grommets is a good option. This will let you hang your banners somewhere in the field like near the team’s bench. Of course, this step comes after printing.
