Large Canvas Prints in Small Apartments

Design Ideas

Decorating a small apartment in the city can be tedious because one has to maximize the space and at the same time create the illusion of a bigger space. Before, decorators used mirrors to make the space look more spacious but now there is a new trend in decorating which is called canvas printing. You do not need to purchase expensive oil canvas paintings to brighten up your home. By printing your digital photos on canvas, it can show the depth of space and create a focal point to deceive visual space. Here are 3 things you need to know about canvas printing for your apartment.

3 Tips for Canvas Printing

1. Picture Perfect!
The standard orientation of the photograph is rectangular so that it would be easy to crop the unnecessary edges. The resolution of your photo should at least be 100 dpi or else it will appear blurry if blown up. Using a photo editing software, edit the imperfections in your photo like red eyes, dark lighting, etc. Remember that you will be hanging this in your wall and you wouldn’t want to have a portrait with red eyes staring at you right?

2. Choose a Good Online Printer Company
You may have the best photo but if your printer is not of high standards then you’ll end up with a disastrous artwork. There are a lot of online printers that offer canvas printing services but you need to be careful in choosing one. Aside from shipping and handling, you also need to consider if your printer offer stretching services. It would be easier for you if your online printer already have that service so that you don’t have to do the stretching of the canvas yourself.

3. Protect your Canvas
You can protect your canvas by not exposing it to direct sunlight and heat. Hang your canvas print in a wall away from pointed objects because scratches may occur. Also, make sure that your canvas is coated so that your canvas’s colors won’t easily fade. If dust occurs, do not wipe it off with a damp towel because it will destroy your work of art. Instead, blow them off the surface.
